Here's what The Globe have to say about themselves:
"Shakespeare's Globe is a unique international resource dedicated to the exploration of Shakespeare's work and the playhouse for which he wrote, through the connected means of performance and education."
And it's a fantastic place.
I understand now why The Globe's The Taming of the Shrew (see earlier post) did not work for me - it was written and directed for a thrust stage such as the one at the Globe. Without this, the whole atmosphere and effect of the play was lost.
My apologies to the cast for my earlier comments - it was the venue, not you!
